Another area that is affected by globalization in Japan is its agriculture. Agriculture was a huge part of Japan before transportation was made accessible since that was where all their food came from. But since the increase of the population, agriculture in Japan does not provide enough food for the whole country. Because of that Japan now relies heavily on imported goods which make local agriculture in Japan hard to compete in the market. This then leads to the decline of agriculture in Japan and that takes away from the cultural traditions of agriculture in Japan.
So as you can see globalization is can have its pros and cons but it is needed since a country now cannot provide for its own country because of its limited resources. Japan needs imports to be able to have the energy and food source for its citizens. Without globalization Japan would be isolated since it is an island and the limited resources would cause severe economic problems.
